Refund policy · Version 1.0 · Effective October 8, 2026
Refund policy
Short version: you get all of your 10 USD back if you ask within 7 days of paying and have not used any paid feature on that trip.
When you can get a refund
- You ask within 7 days of paying for the trip, and
- no paid feature has been used on that trip.
Then the whole payment is refunded. We do not refund part of a payment.
What counts as using a paid feature
- Quick notes beyond the 5 free ones (the free ones are used first, even after paying).
- Creating a share link for the final bill.
- Emailing the bill to the group.
- Exporting the bill as CSV.
- Changing the trip's end date after the trip has started.
Our records decide what has been used. Once any of these has happened on the trip, the unlock has been used and it can no longer be refunded.
How to ask
The person who paid opens the trip, taps ⋯ and then Refund. The app checks the rules on the spot: if you qualify, the refund is made straight away; if not, it tells you exactly why (not the person who paid, more than 7 days ago, or which paid feature was used). You can also write to us at the address below.
After a refund
The money goes back to the card or account you paid with, through our payment provider, Stripe. It usually appears within a few business days, depending on your bank. The trip goes back to the free version: all its expenses stay, but the paid features are off.
Examples
- You paid 3 days ago and only added expenses by hand: refunded in full.
- You paid 3 days ago and made a share link: not refundable, because a paid feature was used.
- You paid 9 days ago and used nothing: not refundable, because more than 7 days have passed.
Your legal rights
Nothing here limits rights you have by law that cannot be limited.
