How long we keep your data
Short version: a free trip is deleted for good two years after its last day. A trip that has been unlocked with the one-time payment is kept until you ask us to delete it.
What is kept, and for how long

Read-only period
Anyone in a trip can add and change expenses until 31 days after its last day. After that the trip is read-only: you can still open it and see the bill, but nothing new can be added. New people can be invited only during the same period.
On your phone
Trip Split saves a copy of your trips in your phone's browser so it works without a signal. That copy stays until you clear the site's data in your browser or delete the trip from your phone. Deleting a trip from your phone does not delete it from our servers.
Deleting sooner
You can ask us to delete a trip, or everything linked to you, at any time using the contact address below. We will do it for the whole trip, since the data belongs to everyone in it. Short-lived backups kept by our hosting provider may take a little longer to disappear.
If we ever change this
If we shorten how long paid trips are kept or stop the service, we will tell people in the app and on this page well before anything is deleted, and give a way to download the bill.
